Two Paths to Get Involved

PAD offers two ways to join our mission. Review the options below to find the right fit, then check back soon to submit your application online.

Volunteer Application

Who should apply: Anyone passionate about helping train future assistance dogs. We have several volunteer roles — Puppy Raiser, Young Puppy Volunteer, Puppy Starter, and Volunteer Sitter — no prior dog training experience is required.

What to expect: After submitting your application, a PAD representative will contact you to discuss the available roles, answer your questions, and guide you through the next steps including a home visit.

Owner-Trainer Application

Who should apply: Individuals with disabilities who are interested in training their own assistance dog with guidance from PAD. This track begins with a General Needs Assessment.

What to expect: Your application starts the process toward a General Needs Assessment, where PAD will discuss your needs, lifestyle, and which of our owner-training paths is the best fit for you.
